Great Britain entered a squad of six riders (four men and two women) to compete in their respective Olympic road races, by virtue of their respective positions in the UCI World Ranking for nations as at 22 October 2019. Included were three Grand Tour winners, Geraint Thomas (2018 Tour de France), Simon Yates (2018 Vuelta a Espana) and Tao Geoghegan Hart (2020 Giro d'Italia). Former World Champion and London 2012 silver medalist Lizzie Deignan highlighted the women's team.
