Blackheath, along with Civil Service F.C., is one of the two clubs that can claim to be a founder member of both The Football Association and the Rugby Football Union. The club currently play in Champ Rugby, the second tier of the English rugby union system, following their promotion from National League 1 at the end of 2025–26 season.
