De Klerk, who made his Vodacom Super Rugby debut for the Emirates Lions when he was on loan from the Mpumalanga Pumas, impressed when he got his opportunities with snappy service, wicked breaks in broken play, a solid kicking boot and a massive work rate. He was a key member of the Springbok squad at the RWC in Japan in 2019.
