Jakub Mensik and Brandon Nakashima meet in the second singles match of the 2026 Laver Cup, with Team Europe and Team World looking to build early momentum at The O2 in London. Mensik returns to the competition after a productive debut in 2025 and arrives ranked No. 15 in the world, while Nakashima makes his first Laver Cup appearance after an excellent North American summer that lifted him to a career-high No. 16. The American also holds the psychological advantage from their most recent tour-level meeting, having defeated Mensik in three sets in Washington earlier this season. With both players possessing powerful serves and aggressive baseline games, the matchup offers a closely balanced contest between two of the ATP Tour’s leading younger players, with one valuable Day 1 point available for their respective teams.
