Marco Wittmann won Race 1 at the Sachsenring, driving for Schubert Motorsport in his BMW M4 GT3. Wittmann started from pole position—his first pole of the year—following a chaotic, red-flagged qualifying session triggered by a heavy crash from Lucas Auer. Wittmann briefy lost the lead to WINWARD Racing's Jules Gounon during the pit stop phase but managed to overtake him a lap later on warmer tyres. Jules Gounon finished 2nd in his Mercedes-AMG GT3, while Thomas Preining secured 3rd for Manthey Porsche, a result that further extended Preining's lead at the top of the overall DTM championship standings.
