Rory Skinner claimed a dominant first victory of the season for Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha in Race 1 at Cadwell Park. Starting from second on the grid, Skinner pulled off a flawless holeshot at the start and led the entire race distance to win by over two seconds. The opening encounter was marked by high drama in the lead group. Pole-sitter Bradley Ray kept close pressure on Skinner until lap five, when he crashed out at Park corner. Moments later, Storm Stacey suffered a separate crash at the exact same bend. Further back, Glenn Irwin was knocked out of the running following a collision with Josh Brookes, while Ryan Vickers misjudged an overtake at Park corner, wiping out both himself and Joe Talbot.
