The Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington D.C. was an NTT IndyCar Series motor race held on August 23, 2026, at the 1.7 mi (2.7 km) Washington Street Circuit in Washington, D.C. It was the fifteenth round of the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series. The race consisted of 147 laps, extended from the originally scheduled 125 laps. The historic event was the first-ever auto race held on the streets of the nation's capital. It served as a signature celebration for the United States Semiquincentennial, marking the country's 250th birthday. Driving the No. 27 Sam's Club Honda for Andretti Global, Kirkwood dominated the street race by leading 128 of the 147 laps. He crossed the finish line directly in front of the U.S. Capitol Building, beating second-place finisher Christian Lundgaard by 3.09 seconds. A late-race yellow flag bunched up the field, but Kirkwood successfully defended his lead on the final restart to capture his seventh career victory.
