Adam Morgan won Race 1 of the BTCC Donington Park GP meeting. Driving his CPRL Mercedes A35 Saloon, Morgan successfully converted his pole position into a lights-to-flag victory. The race featured two safety-car interruptions, including an early one triggered by a massive crash involving Lewis Gilbert. Despite the pressure and the restarts, Morgan maintained his composure to beat championship leader Ash Sutton across the line. Sam Osborne suffered absolute heartbreak before the lights even went green, as his NAPA Racing UK Ford Focus broke down on the parade lap, preventing him from starting the race.
