Matteo Cairoli won Race 1 of the 2026 DTM round at the Nürburgring on Saturday, 15 August 2026. Driving the number 14 Ferrari 296 GT3 for Emil Frey Racing, Cairoli started from pole position and dominated the chaotic race to claim his third victory of the season. The race featured heavy drama, including a wild final-lap collision, penalties for contact, and aggressive pit-stop strategies on cold tyres. Thomas Preining finished in second place for Manthey Racing, and Marco Wittmann completed the podium in third for Schubert Motorsport.
