Josh Cook won Race 1 of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Thruxton. Driving his Speedworks Toyota Corolla GR Sport, the "King of Thruxton" led from lights-to-flag to capture his 11th full-points victory at the circuit. The Start: Cook successfully defended his pole position through the complex despite immediate attacks from both Tom Ingram and Ash Sutton. The Chase: Sutton quickly fought past Ingram to secure second place and hounded Cook for the remainder of the 16-lap duration. Plato Racing Surge: Dan Rowbottom enjoyed a standout launch, leaping forward four positions on the opening lap to inject his Mercedes into the leading pack.
