Freddie Slater won the chaotic 2026 FIA Formula 3 Feature Race at the Hungaroring, claiming his maiden F3 victory and taking the lead of the Drivers' Championship heading into the summer break. Slater started P2 next to pole-sitter Tuukka Taponen. Slater took the lead early after contact between the two gave Taponen a right-rear puncture. When Taponen pitted under an early Safety Car to address his puncture, an unprecedented 26 drivers mistakenly followed him into the pit lane. The stewards issued a mass reprimand post-race but did not hand down grid or time penalties.
