Trident driver John Bennett won the 2026 Formula 2 Sprint Race at the Red Bull Ring, securing his first-ever F2 victory with a dramatic, last-lap overtake on Prema Racing's Sebastian Montoya. The Winning Move: Sebastian Montoya started on reverse-grid pole with Bennett alongside him. After swapping the lead early on, Montoya held the top spot for most of the race. On the final lap (Lap 28), Bennett executed a decisive switchback move at Turn 4 to reclaim the lead and seal the win. Incidents & Disruption: An opening-lap collision at Turn 3 brought out an early Safety Car, ending the races for Emerson Fittipaldi Jr., Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, and Oliver Goethe. A later Virtual Safety Car (VSC) was triggered by Colton Herta's mechanical failure.
