Matt Payne won Race 21 at the 2026 NTI Townsville 500 with a dominant performance, finishing a massive 15.2 seconds ahead of the field. Driving the #19 Penrite Ford Mustang for Grove Racing, Payne led a heavily uncontested race after polesitter Brodie Kostecki suffered a slow pitstop due to a stubborn left-rear wheel. This victory allowed Payne to firmly extend his lead in the Repco Supercars Championship standings.
