The German motorcycle Grand Prix, first held in 1925, is a motorcycling event that is part of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. The event is due to take place at the Sachsenring until at least 2026. In 1998, after having become rather unpopular first at Hockenheim and then at Nürburgring due to the style of the promoters, the German motorcycle Grand Prix moved to new promoters, and to the shortened purpose-built Sachsenring where it became a sell-out event since. Marc Márquez won the 2026 MotoGP German Grand Prix. He dominated the weekend at the Sachsenring circuit, securing a perfect 37-point haul by winning both Saturday's Tissot Sprint and Sunday's 30-lap main race from pole position. This milestone marked his 10th premier-class victory at the German track. The Grand Prix concluded with a mixed podium. While the Marquez brothers ran 1-2 early on, Álex Márquez crashed out at Turn 13 on Lap 10 while chasing his brother. This opened the door for Trackhouse stars Ai Ogura and Raúl Fernández to claim the remaining podium spots. Former championship front-runner Marco Bezzecchi missed the race entirely after fracturing his left collarbone during a heavy crash in Saturday's qualifying session. New Grid Layout: The German GP was the very first event to implement MotoGP's revised grid format, utilizing wider spacing rules between individual rows and riders.
